PROGRAM COORDINATOR – COMMUNITY CONNECTOR
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference and an impact in the Town of Stony Plain and the Tri-Regional area? If you meet the qualifications and are interested in working with a group of professionals dedicated to promoting community-based initiatives, we want to hear from you! We are currently searching for two Community Connectors to add to the team.
The Community Connectors will provide systems navigation support to connect vulnerable individuals with essential resources and services, address barriers to access and support, and facilitate activities that enhance community support of marginalized community residents. Areas of client focus include youth (up to age 29), persons with disabilities, newcomers, and/or Indigenous residents. Residents may require assistance related to dementia, houselessness, elder abuse, family violence, isolation, or other personal/social challenges.
Our ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree or certificate in Social Work, Nursing, or related field along with a minimum of 3 years’ related experience, including experience in screening, assessment, case management, and counseling. Training and/or experience in areas related to mental wellness, family/domestic violence awareness, geriatrics, youth services, risk assessment, and/or working with vulnerable adults is required. Must have a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
The successful applicants will be highly adaptable and collaborative. They will be able to use their strong interpersonal skills to communicate inclusively and respectfully when establishing professional relationships with vulnerable residents and service providers. They can utilize both asset-based community development and strength-based, human-centered approaches.
These two Temporary Full-Time positions will go until November 30, 2025, with the possibility of extension. Based on a 35-hour work week, the salary is $60, 684 - $77, 208 per annum. The positions will work in the community, in office, and virtually as required to best reduce barriers to service and increase a sense of belonging for residents.
